I'm feeling broke

Yes, we are in the midst of buying our very first house and suddenly we felt very broke. It's like
1) if you put 20% of downpayment lowers your rate,
2) Put in more $ upfront to buy down your rate
3) All the closing cost
4) Misc costs to come..

We had originally intended to buy a house at the end of the year and have diligently saving up for it. It's just that suddenly i thought, It would all seems too rush to buy a house, fly back to singapore and have a wedding all in Dec. And while we were looking, by some fate, we chanced upon a house we liked and the rest is history.

Yes.. Let me tell u how we found this place. We just went to see a condo which in Singapore terms is a 2 bedroom apartment. That was tidy but cozy. I could see myself in there and walking to work. Yes.. Location is goood... By that, i mean walkable to Microsoft. So after that, as we were driving along 148th, i saw this "Open house" sign and i was like "Let's go and see.. Since we are out already". And Derrick humoured me of coz.

Once inside the house, we didn't even know how big it was, etc.. But the beautiful finishings and it's sheer location spells expensive. So we quickly scrambled out of the place. Not before ella grabbed a flyer from the kitchen.

Once in the safety of our car, we saw the flyer and went. Hmmmm.. It's not too bad price le. We were expecting a skyrocket high price. Trust me, that's how we 2 felt.

okk. Not going to tell u more about the house. In case i jinx it. There's like 1 more month for all the buying-house-process till we get the keys. Wish me luck and grit to bear it through..
