Extract wisdom teeth Again

I must be one of those rare cases where i have to undergo my 3rd wisdom tooth extraction operation. Not that i like it in any way, i totally hated the whole extraction process and the recovery.

Well 3 years ago, i underwent 2 rounds of extraction to remove my left and right pairs of wisdom teeth. Yes, let's skip the yucky part and let's just say, the holes has since healed completely.

And recently i found a tooth fragment sticking out of the gum. So off to the dentist i went, who later referred me to a oral surgeon. It appears that i have a wisdom tooth root fragment that was left behind from the last extraction. sighh...

Doc> Do you want to be put to sleep?
Me> erm.. when i did my extraction back home in Singapore, they only did local anesthesia.
Doc> That's very brave. Well, in that case you can handle this with local too. But most people here does tooth extraction while put to sleep.

Me> Will you need to do any drilling to break the fragment?
Doc> Sorry dear, i can't promise that. I will only know when we cut open and see the fragment.

Me> Will i have the hole that takes forever to heal?
Doc> Yes, it's like the entire wisdom tooth extraction process again.

Me> Why only 1 day of sick leave? I have like 5 days of sick leave when i extracted mine in singapore
Doc> Well, I will call u in the evening to make sure you are well. Other than that, 1 day is fine.

Doc> You won't be able to take solid food for several days and can eat yogurt, etc...
Me thinking out loud: sighhhh......
