ella made Wonton Mee

Wanton
yup.. Any orders? Hee.. We went Ranch 99, it's a big chinese supermarket and we bought quite a lot of stuff. I was in the mood to cook wanton mee as i was craving for it. So i bought the ingredients such as mee gia aka noodle, choy sum aka Caixin, Wanton skin, minced pork.

And voila.. It was relatively easy. Mix minced pork, minced prawn, add some seasonings such as soy sauce, pepper and cornstarch. Well.. Derrick won't say it's easy as it's took away 1 hour of his time to help me wrap the wontan. =P

Next, boil water and boil the noodles, wanton, vegetables. The noodles turned out gooey.. and we realised that we were supposed to rinse it in water after cooking. Which we did later.... Serve everything in a plate, add some sesame oil and oyster sauce. Take a picture for this blog before digging in.

Verdict: Yummy and it's healthy... Definitely going to try making this again in future. But i'm missing the char siew meat here. maybe next time...

Some points to note though:
1) I bought the wrong skin. Sui Kau Skin is not the same as wanton skin. Sui Kau is thicker. So the fried wanton version tasted more like cracker
2) Added too little soya sauce to the meat mixture and was a little bland. Next time, after mixing, boil 1 wanton to sample test before wrapping all the remaining wanton.
3) Never stack the wantons together. Even though i added flour, they got stuck together badly for the remaining wontons.
