Sneak peak at our house - Part1
As promised, here's some pictures of our new place - Our very first house right here in USA. The sofa have not arrived yet. So i will upload pictures of the other parts of the house when that happens.
It's a townhouse, meaning it's 2 stories. It's 2bedroom, 2 full bathrooms + 1 toilet = 3 toilets + 2 tubs. Here's presenting our new place:
The front of the house. It comes with a little garden area. The plants were planted by the previous owner, hopefully we can keep it look nice as days goes on. If you notice, the front door has a stained glass. Yes, that's non-compliant.
Over here in USA, every condominium/estate has a homeowners' association. And it makes sure that all the units look the same on the outside. Let's just say they own the structure and exterior of the place, we own the inside.
Ours is different from other units because of the glass in the door. Well.. Let's just say the seller have resolved it and here we are with a beautiful glass entry door.
As you enter the house, you see the toilet. Yup, it's the toilet on the first floor. Hope guests will like the flowers. The flooring you see is ceramic tiles. A little similar to tiles back in Singapore.
Now mind you, it's uncommon to have tiles in USA. And i know the reason why. Tiles are super cold to step on in the weather here. Now in the hot sunny summer, stepping on these feel cooling and nice. I can't imagine how it feels like in winter. I probably have to put rugs all over the tiles.
Here comes the dining table. k, i admit, i have expensive taste. These are leather chairs and solid wood table that's extendable. We have sat 9 people comfortably for dinner so far and we could also remove the extension to make the table smaller.
The french door opens to the private deck . That's another 2 non-compliants which the sellers had to resolve. Firstly, the french doors. Other units do not have these, theirs are the sliding doors. In fact, after i check out the prices on these doors, i told Derrick, that if they are removing the french doors, we ain't buying the house.
Secondly, other units have just the concrete for the deck. Ours have the new wooden patio on top of the concrete. It becomes a nice backyard. ermm.. except that now in summer, there's a lot of insects and we don't use the area at all. maybe i get some bug spray to fix that...
Now that's all for the house so far. More to come on a later notice.
