We bought lamb meat for the first time

Upon my colleague's recommendation, we went Shalimar grocery store in Redmond to try to buy some lamb meat last friday. My colleague asked his wife and apparently i should buy shoulder meat and ask for boneless. But alas, they ran out of shoulder meat on Friday and the guy told us to come back on Wednesday when the fresh supply of meat comes in.

So off we go to Shalimar again today after work. ermmm... ended up shoulder meat has bones and the only boneless meat is the thigh meat. So we decided to stick with shoulder meat. At $6.99 per pound, it's a little pricy compared to the other meats we usually buy.

We are going to cook lamb rendang with it and now it's slowly stewing in the slow cooker. Hopefully it will turn out much better than beef rendang.

As for Shalimar, definitely a grocery to go if you are looking to buy spices. They sell the cheapest cinnamon sticks, star anise, etc... Yes, even Derrick pointed out the cheap price on all the spices..
