Lost in translation

Black bean bun? No.. It's red bean bun.. We just ate 1 to verify it.. But's the filling is black. So it's black or red bean bun??


Now i asked 3 people in the Asian supermarket whether is this Sweet potato flour. Nobody knows.. But i just went ahead to buy it to give it a shot. So please tell me is it sweet potato starch or potato starch?



I'm attempting to make you tiao and it requires 2 things Alum and ammonia powder. Now my mum tells me that it's difficult to find Alum. But i could find it easily over here. But i hunted all the supermarket and they don't have ammonia powder. It's called baking ammonia as well..
