The power of internet shopping

Maybe it's a culture thing or a trend. But over the past year that i have been here in USA, i done pretty much a lot of internet shopping. Amazon, Victoria Secret, Old Navy are some of the places that i buy from.

In fact, i was tempted to buy groceries from Amazon Fresh. Yes, Amazon sells fresh produce online too. In fact, a friend of ours used it and blogged about it. http://dorothyho.com/?p=943
Not sure if other states in USA have this, but Seattle certainly has this service. Given reasonable pricing and free shipping, AmazonFresh definitely works. I like the idea of shopping online and having the stuff delivered to the house.

This week alone, i made 2 online purchases. First, my wedding gown. Yes.. my Wedding gown. The surprising fact is: ordering from the online site of a bridal store saves me USD$300, plus the very fact that i get freebie such as the veil and free shipping to boot.. Now.. i bet none of back home would have expected to buy a wedding gown off the internet. Well.. i did try the dress in person in the bridal store. It's just not me to pay $300 more to buy from the store. Now, we just have to wait several weeks before the dress arrives at my front door. =)
*pss.. not posting image of the dress. Keeping it a secret..

The next is a chair. We been thinking of buying a comfy chair for me. Derrick has one already and i need one also. The 2 geeks spent too much hours in front of the computer that it warrants the reason to have comfortable chair. I chanced upon this

And within minutes, i'm the proud owner of the soon-to-be-delievered-chair.

The one list in the forum is the green one and would cost me $35. In the end, we bought the one in the pink box. That's the same chair as Derrick's. He convinced me that cheap chairs ain't comfortable to sit on. It's still cheap, after all the discounts, the chair cost $50.
