New pan ceremony

Yep, another new addition to the stack of pots and pans we already have. This time round, it's a cast iron grill/panini pan. Our first cast iron cookware. Been wanting to get this to cook steaks and finally bought one when there's a sale at Macy's. This was a steal as not only it was on sale, i could use an additional coupon for it.

Now, time to do a new pan ceremony. Although the pan is already pre-seasoned, online search shows most people season cast iron pan the first time by cooking bacon in it. So here what i'm doing too. Cooking oily bacon on it to season it.

Next, time to cook some stuff with the new seasoned pan which by the way, is super super heavy. I do need to be careful not to drop it on my glass top stove, neither do i want to drag the pan in case it scratches the stove or the marble top counter.

p/s.. Next blog is about another new toy for the kitchen too. We bought a few things during the sale.
