My first cherry pie

Several weeks back when there's a promotion on Rainer cherries, and i bought quite a lot. Well, if you haven't have had Rainer cherries, you are certainly missing out. These yellow cherries is considered the sweetest among all the cherry type. Anyway, thinking that we could freeze them, webought quite a lot and froze half of them. We later found out that after defrosting, the cherries are a little too mushy for our liking. So what do i do with them? I decide to try making cherry pie.

Here's the chef and her cherry pie before it goes into the oven.

And here's the baked result.

Here's a slice for testing.

Verdict? It was pretty good, in fact, so good that we both had another slice each after sharing 1 for testing. The crust was good and the filling weren't too sweet. Well, i did reduce the amount of sugar in the receipe as the recipe calls for tart cherries but i had sweet Rainer cherries.

This is definitely a receipe keeper
