Second Vancouver trip

This time round, we are going to Vancouver for official business.. Ya., in case u haven't hear my previous rants about this, i needed to leave USA for a new I94 card. The easiest option i have, was to go Vancouver as that's technically leaving USA.

So what did we do in that 6 hours in Vancouver?

We had lunch at Richmond Public Market, it reminds of hawker center food back home but it's good. We chanced upon this place on this trip.

After which, we went Yaohan.
Yaohan again

Why Yaohan again? see Derrick's expression...
Shopping in Vancouver?
Well, we were helping a fren to buy Prima Taste mixes and it's available at the supermarket here.

Nian Gao
And at the bakery at the supermarket, i bought this nian gao. Technically, i can't bring this to USA, but we thought just try our luck. It will be nice to have this for the coming Chinese New Year with the rest of them. Weird thing is, back home, we have this for prayers and i rem them being mouldy..

After all the walking , we headed to Shanghai River for an early dinner as we weren't sure how long we be held up at the Customs..
Xiao Long Bao
Hee.. ate too fast, only remembered to take a picture after eating it..

Glutinious Rice w Pork ribs
Tried out this dish and it turned out nice. At first we felt that it was rather bland, but it's actually v nice and u don't feel sick of it after eating thru halfway..

I think the ones i have had in Taiwan by the streets taste better. Pan fried baos..

Why 3 dishes only? Well we didn't feel very hungry.. If we had more ppl with us, we would have ordered the promotional set for $48 for 2-3. Every1 ard us ordered that set and it was really good. Only issue is the portions is big and we cannot bring the leftover back into USA. So we gave that a miss and order ala carte.

After the simple day out, we headed back to USA where we waited 1 hr at the customs. Whatever the case, it's settled and certainly am relieved abt this whole matter..
