Technical glinch

We were watching a DVD when we realised it's 12midnight and missing out on the fireworks. But when we switched over to the TV channel, it was showing the space needle and no fireworks. It felt funny that for the next min, the hosts were lost with words explaning the glitch. Imagine counting down. 5 4 3 2 1........ No fireworks.. No fireworks........

When the fireworks did go off a min later, it was ok. Not too spectacular.. And it stopped after a few min. !??!?? Is it that short? nope.. another glitch...

It's the first time i come across a new-year-count-down firework that didn't fire on time. Now, that's a start for the year.
