Our first roadtrip Washington-Oregon-California - Day 1
It was Memorial day holiday on Monday and we decide to make our first ever road trip in the states. We are going to take the highway 101 by the ocean drive, from Washington to Oregon to North California.
Here's our stuff as we ready to leave at 6am
Here's the bridge that we are going to take to cross into Oregon
Here's our first pit stop. Breakfast at Columbia cafe, it was recommended in our guide and the food was pretty good.
Derrick had omelete
I had portobella sandwich.
We had to stop for Tillamook icecream in the town of Tillamook. Yes, it was a freaking big icecream cone
A tour at the Tillamook Cheese factory too.
Free samples anyone? After this tour where we saw cheese being packed in shoeboxes to be matured. Yep, it's shoebox manufactured cheese. That certainly changed our mindset about these store bought cheeses.
Had to take a sign with the World's smallest harbor
There are ships entering and leaving the harbor. At this same seaway, we saw several sea lions too. The harbor althought being smallest, does attract creatures like sea lions too.
Yes! Dinner time at Mo's
We shared this seafood platter. It was okay, not super out-of-the-world.
Here's derrick with the super large anchor outside Mo's
It was a long drive before we finally reach our motel for the night.
