Day 2 in Texas - Austin

Today, we are going to drive 3 hours from Houston to Austin. First pit stop - Food of course.


Salt Lick Bar-B-Que


Derrick ordered the platter while i had the pulled pork sandwich. It was good but yesterday's bar-b-que was even better. This has a nice distinct smokey taste.


And this is the reason why. The meat are cooked in the pit and the sauce is spread on them using a mop

Next up, a visit to the state capital of Texas

Spent some time walking the street of Austin and join the crowd on the Congress bridge waiting to see the bats flying out of the bridge at night fall. It was an-okay sight, nothing too spectacular with the stream of several bats flying out.
