Birthday treat at John Howie Steak

Remember i told you last week that we were supposed to go John Howie Steak to celebrate Derrick's birthday? But we didn't go as we had steak at The Kegs, and decided to go John Howie another time?

Well, let's just say, we decided not to let it sit too long. Well, although Derrick's birthday is already over, he was still looking forward to having steak. We been wanting to try the steak at this swanky place and i bought a $60 coupon for $29 a few weeks back when i saw the promotion. So off we go to enjoy our steaks.

erm.. Dinner prices are indeed expensive and i'm glad i did call to make reservations. It was packed on a weekday dinner. 5 star services and both of us felt underdressed and diners there were in suits, etc.. We ordered the prime steak for 2 that was served tableside. Fabulous... Both of us felt that it was the best steak we ever had. Well, we did have fillet migon at El Gacho before but both of us prefer the meaty taste. Ya, we don't know how to appreciate fillet migon.

Hee, because the place is so swanky and dark, i was too embarassed to take a picture of the glorious food. They also gave us a complimentary dessert complete with the candle to celebrate Derrick's birthday.

I'm so glad derrick enjoyed the dinner as he kept gushing about how good the steak was days afterwards. By far, this is our most expensive steak dinner we ever had but it's far cheaper than some places we heard of. I would think twice about going again just simply because of the price but Derrick says he would most certainly go again as the steaks were really good.

I asked if we should go there every year for his birthday and guess what he said? He say maybe...
