Isn't it early?

Once a year we need to clear the leaves off the deck. Well, both of us take turns clearing the deck and this year it's Derrick's turn, we have been waiting for the leaves on the tree to completely fall off. We wait and wait and wait.. yet, there still leaves on the tree. But we decided not to hold it further as the weatherman says it's going to snow.

Here's a back breaking 2 hours to clear the leaves in the freezing cold. Here's Derrick suited up, braving the cold to clear the deck. Yep, it was less than 5 degree celsius and had light snow in the morning.

Guess what happened the next day?

It snowed, really snowed in November. Well, it's early to snow. It only snow 1-3 times over here and in late dec or jan. But in Nov? Before Thanksgiving. That's early by all records. And guess what? people in Seattle freaks out when it snows. That includes us.

This year, because of all the El Nino predictions and all the news about the bad weather, we too have prepped ourselves for the bad weather. Food, water, tire chains for the new car.. But still, when the snow fell, we are still uncomfortable to drive. Heard all about the terrible commute today people have to deal with. We ain't even staying on any hills or lowlands, and for us to see this inch of snow, would mean other areas would have been hit even harder.

The weatherman says tonight temperature is frigid. Tomorrow's highest temperature is 19 degree fahrenheit, that's a freaking -7.2 degree celsius. Have we ever had minus weather here? Not that i remember in my 3 years here. Apparently, people have been advised to avoid going outdoor tonight as staying 30minutes outdoor, you risk getting frostbite. Well, the worry now is melted snow will be ice tomorrow. Guess, we will be working from home tmr and avoid the risk of being on the road.

Hopefully the weather improves before thursday Thanksgiving and black Friday sale. To all those people who are camping outdoor for all the deals, please go prepared for the cold.
